Pastor Russell and his wife, Margaret, grew up in Northern New
Jersey. Both came to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior at early
ages. Though they traveled very different paths with the Lord, they
met each other at a church singles group and were married in 1996.
Their marriage has been deeply blessed with four boys, Noah,
Joshua, and Nathan and Andrew. Their house is a rambunctious,
energy-filled, maelstom of testosterone! The only time the house is
quiet is when all four boys are sleeping or the family is
traveling!
Prior to beginning ministry as a pastor, Russell was part of a
family business for 9 years and worked as a training coordinator
for several years at Unilever Home & Personal Care. During this
time he received his BS in Organizational Management from Nyack
College. After serving on his local church's missions committee and
elder board, Russell was hired as the Pastor of Single Adult
Ministries. While ministering there, Russell received his MA in
Religious Studies with a concentration in counseling from Liberty
Theological Seminary. Later his role was expanded to Pastor of
Adult Ministries. In 2007, sensing the Lord's leading, Russell
accepted the position of Senior Pastor at the Pleasantview Alliance
Church. He is currently enrolled in the Ecclesial Leadership
doctoral program at Regent University.
Russell enjoys reading, watching movies (classic: It's a
Wonderful Life, modern: Lord of the Rings), listening to music
(VERY eclectic - everything from Christian stomp - Adrian Ewings -
to classic rock - Eric Clapton), camping, and wrestling with his
boys - though he's starting to lose the wrestling battles with all
four of them involved! Everyone in the family likes to travel to
new places - collectively they have been as far north as England,
as far east as Israel, as far south as Ghana, and as far west as
Hawaii.
