Exodus Introduction

Exodus means 'a way out' or 'exit' (from the Latin & Greek)

This second book of the Old Testament begins with the Jewish people in bondage and ends with Worship of the Lord. It is a book which teaches and illustrates the redemption and deliverance that only God can accomplish on behalf of His people. This He does for His own glory and the sake of His name. Some key verses are 6:6-8 and 20:2

Key theme "God sets us free that we might serve Him" (Wiersbe)

This is the COOLEST thing. I'm involved in a very stressful, ugly situation at work and God has been convicting me that my responses to that situation are not any different from my co-workers. At first I didn't even want my responses/reactions to be different because I really want to see this particualr person get what they deserve! But as the Holy Spirit has continued to work in me, I've begun praying about how it is that I should respond. Part of the problem is that I don't KNOW what to do/say. Today in my reading I came across this verse that God speaks to Moses - and I really believe He is also speaking to me - "I will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do." Exodus 4:15. The timing of the reading of this verse was just amazing!!
