Lamentations - Introduction
The book of Lamentations is Jeremiah's journal and journey
through sorrow and heartbreak as he saw the judgment of God fall
with the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylons. The deep anguish
of soul is 'felt' in this book. It also contains hope that the
mercy and faithfulness of God would be realized (3:19-24). It
concludes with a prayer for the Lord to take note of the suffering
and restore His people.
