Happy New Year to all the blog readers. :-)
Our topic this past
Sunday was the unique perspectives that face us at the end of
one year and the beginning of another. Using Ecclesiastes 7:8 we
saw that 'the end is better than the beginning.' This promise from
God brings both freedom from all that holds us in our past as well
as magnificent hope for the future. Additionally, when we see what
God has accomplished through our church in the past year, we must
not fill up with pride, but instead be patient as we seek full
maturity in Christ. We noted that two prevailing characteristics of
maturity are the ability to care for self - for example, feeding
ourselves - and raising others up to maturity.
I looked for more information on maturity for our blog readers
to add to what was said on Sunday. I found a
great link that uses DeKalb corn as a model for a mature
Christian. Much as I'd like to take credit for it, who would really
believe that I know anything about corn!!
:-)
So, enjoy the link and feel free to comment below on any
thoughts you might have.
