Don't Click Here

You Had To Do It, Didn't You!

The link said "Don't click here," but you did anyway. You had lots of other choices on Pleasantview Alliance's menu, but you deliberately chose to go where you were told not to. In the midst of many 'Yesses,' you were attracted to the one 'No.'

This is similar to another incident a long, long time ago.

God made a wonderful paradise and gave it to Adam and Eve. They could go anywhere, do anything, enjoy the whole creation - with a single exception. One tree - the tree of the knowledge of good and evil - was off limits. However, just as you clicked on a button that said "Don't go here," Adam and Eve ate from the tree that was off limits. They stopped trusting God and so chose to disobey God's warning.

When Adam disobeyed God, he brought sin into the world. Sin brought many terrible consequences, but the most terrible was death. Sin brought physical and spiritual death into the world and would seperate all people from God forever.

The penalty for sin is death. But God loved us so much that He took on humanity, in the person of Jesus, and came to earth. He lived the way that we were supposed to live (completely trusting God). Then Jesus took upon Himself the punishment that we deserved. He rose from the dead three days later so that He might give life to all whom He pleases - and it pleases Jesus to give life to all who have faith in Him.

We must accept His gift of forgiveness, it cannot be earned. How do we accept this gift? When we can verbally confess that Jesus is our Lord (that we will yield our lives to His rule - that we will turn from our sinful lives) and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, then we have accepted this gift.

You can make that confession right now simply by praying that God would forgive you through Jesus and that you want to live your life for Him.

If you have prayed that prayer or have additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact one of our pastors or call us at 814-763-4880.

Yep, couldn't help it -- had to click the don't click, figured I could repent later. Just proves, it weren't Adam or Eve responsible for the fall -- it would have been ME.
