Foreign missions has always played an important role in the
history of the Christian & Missionary Alliance churches.
Because we believe that a person must have a personal relationship
with Jesus Christ to have eternal life, we see the incredible need
to spread this truth.
Pleasantview Alliance Church supports missions in a variety of
ways:
Children/Youth
The Worldshapers ministry is geared towards
missions education and projects to help missionaries. This past
year several missionary families were highlighted. Some of these
were able to visit with the children when they were home.
Occasionally the stories of missionaries in various places
throughout the world are used during Children's Worship on Sunday
mornings.
Adults
A missions prayer request is given and prayed for during our
morning worship service. The Wednesday evening prayer time always has recent
requests from missionaries.
Men
Our Alliance
Men Ministry includes recent prayer request from missionaries
during their monthly meeting.
Women
For years the Alliance Women Ministry has had a large
support system for foreign missionareis through:
- Prayer
- Education about the work in various countries
- Mailing items hard to obtain in 'their' country
- Monetarily supporting special projects
- 'Adopting' a missionary child to remember
- Workdays are held to
- trim and sort cancelled stamps which are then sold to stamp
collectors
- cut used sheets into strips, sew them end to end, and roll them
for bandages
- mail medical supplies and used pill bottles
