Some might wish that God would just let bygones be bygones and not be angry at us for our sin. But if we're honest with ourselves, we've done a royal job of not only messing up His creation but our own lives. In our own lives and in the world around us, things aren't the way they're supposed to be. So we've messed up the really GREAT things that God has made. If we expected Him to not get angry about that, how could we ever say that He loved all the things and people that He created?

Or to look at in another way, we all see tremendous injustice in the world. Some of it we are involved in directly-some of it much more subtly and indirectly. But there is tremendous injustice in the world. Wouldn't we want that injustice to eventually be taken care of-to be set right? How do we expect God to do that without dealing with the sin that causes the injustice?

But that's, again, where Jesus comes in.
